PICKUP TRUCK STRIKES POLE

On Tuesday around noon, units from Reese were alerted for a motor vehicle collision on Deer Park Road in front of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Units arrived to find that a pickup truck had struck a utility pole and snapped it completely off. The impact not only snapped the pole but tore the remaining portion from the ground and left the pole in a rather odd position. The driver had been hauling some masonary block and bags of mortar in the bed and upon impact the materials penetrated the cab area fortunately missing the driver and landing in the passenger seat. The driver refused any medical services and units were cleared by 12:30 hrs.
