Around 2 PM this afternoon, Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company volunteers and staff were alerted to assist Pleasant Valley Fire Company on a large brush fire in the 3100 block of Halter Road (6-18 box).

Due to dry conditions and high winds, the small fire got out of hand from the property owner, who contacted 911 for assistance.

Upon arrival, Command reported a large pile of brush on fire that was quickly spreading across the field and subsequently, requested additional tankers, additional brush units and ATV units. With quick work by all units, this fire was contained quickly.

Please remember that the entire State of Maryland is currently under a burn ban until further notice, per the Department of Natural Resources.

Multiple mutual aid units from Westminster Littlestown, Union Bridge and New Windsor also responded on this alarm.
