RVFC Responds to MVC with Rescue on Rt. 140 & Kays Mill Rd

At 10:04 AM this morning Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding companies were alerted for a MVC with rescue in the area of Baltimore Blvd (Rt.140) & Kays Mill Rd (Box Area 09-07).

During this time multiple units were performing in service Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training in the area and were able to also respond on the incident. Reserve Engine 6-1(Pleasant Valley) and Medic 19 (Mt. Airy) arrived on scene to find a car vs. a tractor trailer. Reserve Engine 6-1 confirmed (1) patient trapped inside the vehicle and established the initial command.

Rescue Squad 9 and Engine Tanker 9-4 arrived on scene and initiated patient extrication with other units on location. Chief 9 arrived on location shortly after and assumed the Rt. 140 command.

Aviation was requested to assist with patient care. Engine 2-1 (Hampstead) handled the landing zone for MSP Trooper 3. The patient was extricated and transported to a local facility for evaluation and care.
