On the evening of Monday, February 9, 2026, just after 5 p.m., Reese Volunteer Fire Company, along with other nearby departments and the Carroll County Advanced Technical Rescue Team, was called to assist the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office during a welfare check at a severely damaged home.

Rescue Squad 9 and Medic 98 arrived at a one-story residence on Sandymount Road, where they found a collapsed garage and significant roof damage caused by a fallen tree. Carroll County Chief (FD1) Robinson assumed command at the scene. Due to the extent of the structural damage, additional resources were dispatched to aid in the search for occupants.

During the operation, emergency personnel located the sole occupant and provided necessary assistance. The incident remains under investigation by county authorities.
