| As April comes to a close, Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company is proud to recognize one of our junior members, Justin Hawkins. Justin’s interest in the fire service began at a young age, where he spent time watching videos and learning more about the work firefighters do. When he learned about Reese’s Juniors Program, he looked forward to the opportunity to join — and once eligible, he did just that. Since becoming a junior member, Justin has actively participated in trainings and company events. Some of his favorite experiences include hands-on training exercises such as maze and hose drills, as well as community events like the Santa Run, parades, and the annual carnival. Through the program, Justin has enjoyed learning about both Fire and EMS while also building connections with other members of the company. When asked what he would say to someone considering joining the Juniors Program, Justin shared: “It’s really fun. It’s a great group of people and I’ve made several new friends. It’s a great place to learn teamwork and leadership skills.” Looking toward the future, Justin hopes to continue in the fire service, with goals of becoming a firefighter or paramedic. He also plans to pursue additional training opportunities as he becomes eligible and looks forward to one day joining as a volunteer member. We are proud to have Justin as part of our Juniors Program and are excited to see his continued growth and involvement at Reese. |
