This evening, Monday, August 17, from 6:00–7:00 p.m., members of the Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company will be conducting a fire safety walk in the 1700–1800 block of Old Westminster Pike following the recent house fire in our community.

Our members will be stopping at homes in this area to speak with residents, provide fire safety information, and check smoke alarms to help ensure they are present and working properly.

The recent fatal fire is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of working smoke alarms and having a plan in place should a fire occur. As your local fire company, we want to do everything we can to help our neighbors protect themselves and their families.

If you live in the 1700–1800 block of Old Westminster Pike, you may see our members at your door this evening. Please don't hesitate to say hello, ask questions, or have us check your smoke alarms. Our purpose is simple: education, prevention, and helping keep our community safe.

We continue to keep all those affected by the recent fire in our thoughts.
