As the sun was starting to rise, the tones were struck for the house fire at 1383 Pleasant Valley Rd in downtown Pleasant Valley. 1st arriving units from Co. 6 went on scene with a working dwelling fire and crews began making an aggressive interior attack. Engine 92 responded on the box with a crew of 4 and the Rescue Squad followed shortly thereafter with a crew of 2. Upon arrival of Co. 9 units, Engine 92's crew was assigned and worked with Co. 10's crew on the rear of the structure and the 2nd floor apartment. The Rescue Squad was assigned to RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) with crews from Alpha Fire Co. from Littlestown, PA. After a short while, the evacuation tones were sounded due to the instability of the roof area and crews regrouped on the exterior. Units operated for approximately 4hrs. At the time of posting this, no injuries were reported. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office was investigating the cause of the fire.
