Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company 

Junior Firefighter Program

 

The Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company and its Junior Firefighter Program work in cooperation to educate, protect, and serve the youth of the Reese Community and surrounding communities. The Junior Fire Fighter program is implemented by the Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Company to recruit, educate, and guide the next generation of firefighters in the finest tradition of the fire service.

Our goal is to prepare this generation to be safe, educated, and well-trained firefighters so that they may help serve and protect the residents of our community and the other areas we serve. The following statements are upheld by the Reese Volunteer Fire Company Junior Firefighters.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

To maintain a safe environment for the youth of our community to gather, for the purpose of learning the many aspects of the fire service, as well as provide avenues for positive social reaction. To build each junior up to their potential by focusing on leadership, character, teamwork, and community. To provide an active and enjoyable program for our members and their families.
 

VISION

We will be the model for fire departments with Junior Firefighter Youth programs to introduce the young community to the fire service and to provide a safe environment for social activities for youth within our community.


CORE VALUES

Safety, Education, Teamwork, Compassion, Service to others, Integrity, Honesty, Self-Discipline, Accountability, Professionalism, Respect, Dignity, Pride, Honor, Friendship, Fun.
 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be 12-15 years of age.

2. Must attend monthly meetings

3. Must maintain 2.0 GPA.

4.  Must provide a report card each marking period. 
 

REASONS TO JOIN THE JUNIOR
FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM

1. Earn Service Learning Hours (Needed to Graduate High School)

2. Resume Builder for College and Job Search

3. New Friends

4. Experience that will help you throughout your whole life.

5. Friendship between Firefighters.

6. Training
 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will also be provided for you when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment consists of:

1. Safety Glasses

2. Hearing Protection

3. Protective Gloves

4. Fire Helmet

5. Turn-Out Pants

6. Turn-Out Coat

7. Boots
