| On Thursday, September 19, 2013, the Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Department lost a pillar of our Department when Life Member Donald Shauck passed away at the age of 81. Shauck will be greatly missed and our Thursday night Bingo’s will never be the same.
Life Member Jerry Dayton summed it up best when he said, “Yesterday, Reese & Community Vol. Fire Co. lost one of its life members. Donald Shauck, a man that was totally dedicated to this department. Even in his days of fighting this terrible disease, if he was able, he was here working bingo every Thursday night. A man that was voted into the Carroll County Volunteer Fireman's Hall of Fame for his work serving this county.
If our members had half of the dedication that he had, what a better company we would be! Shauck was one of our last old timers... Donald, may you rest in peace for a job well done. Tell Muggy's we said hello, you both will be missed.”
